Our Membership Open House isn’t a formal pitch or a high-pressure networking event. It’s a meet-and-greet designed to help you feel comfortable, make genuine connections, and explore whether NEW feels like your kind of community.

We’ll also have a shared table where guests and members can display business cards and introduce what they do—an easy, low-pressure way to support one another and spark new connections.

Come as you are. Stay as long as you like. Leave with new conversations, new perspectives, and maybe even a few new friends.

For over 45 years, NEW has been more than a networking group. It’s a community built on collaboration, mentorship, and giving back.

One of our proudest initiatives is our annual scholarship program, which has supported women for more than two decades—helping them pursue education, retraining, and career advancement opportunities they might not otherwise have access to.

NEW is an affiliate of the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce, but you do not need to be a Chamber member—or live in Milford—to join.

Who can become a member of NEW?

Membership is open to women who are:

In management or leadership roles
Professionals in their field
Entrepreneurs or business owners
Involved in decision-making or policy within their organization

Do I need to live or work in Milford to join?

No. While NEW is based in Milford, membership is open to women from surrounding communities as well.

Do I need to know someone to apply?

Yes—applicants must be sponsored by a current NEW member. Don’t worry if you don’t have a connection yet—attending events like this Open House is a great way to meet members.

How does the application process work?

Submit your application with payment
Your application is reviewed by the Board of Directors
Your sponsor may be contacted during the review process
Once approved, your membership becomes active

What are the membership dues?

Annual dues are $75 per individual.
There are no business memberships—membership is individual.

When does my membership officially begin?

Your membership begins once:

Your application is approved, and
Your dues are paid in full

If, in the unlikely event your application is not approved, your dues will be refunded.

Are membership dues tax deductible?

In many cases, dues may be considered a business expense.
However, they are not deductible as charitable contributions.
We recommend checking with your tax professional.

Is participation expected from members?

Yes—NEW is a collaborative organization that thrives on involvement.

Members are encouraged to attend events regularly
Those not serving on a board or committee may be subject to a $50 administrative fee
Members who attend fewer than 4 events per year may not be renewed

What kind of organization is NEW?

NEW is a professional networking organization focused on:

Community involvement and giving back

What is the scholarship program?

For over 20 years, NEW has provided scholarships to women seeking:

Undergraduate education
Career retraining
Professional certifications

The goal is to help women advance their careers, re-enter the workforce, or improve their financial independence.

Will photos be taken at events?

Yes—photos may be taken and used on NEW’s website, newsletter, or social media.
If you prefer not to be included, you can notify the President in writing.
